With distant views of mountains and a desert landscape outside their door, these clients were given a home renovation that truly embraced their surroundings. Lauren Lerner of Living with Lolo brought life to a formerly dark home with warm and inviting touches in every corner. LifeCreated beautifully documented the transformation which you can see below.

From the designer… After being a follower on our Instagram account for some time, this client reached out to us for assistance with remodeling her home. The homeowners desired a more contemporary ambiance throughout their house, encompassing a full-scale renovation of the kitchen, living room, and bathroom, as well as new furnishings throughout the entire space. While our client provided specific ideas and aesthetics she wished to incorporate, we were granted a considerable amount of creative freedom for this project. Starting entirely from scratch, our team excelled in the opportunity to design with a blank canvas, bringing our expertise to life!

The most challenging space to tackle during this remodel was undoubtedly the kitchen. It started as a dark and unwelcoming area, but we successfully undertook a complete transformation, turning it into a warm and inviting gathering spot. To fully utilize the tall ceilings, we added custom cabinetry in a stunning putty color, which extended throughout the kitchen. To highlight the picturesque outdoor views, we strategically placed custom drapery high up. Taking advantage of the kitchen’s ample layout, we incorporated a neutral riff cut white oak island, complemented by exquisite stools featuring an elongated wooden frame with elegant rattan and brass accents. To ensure longevity, we opted for custom seats made of performance fabric. This choice is perfect for families with children, as it is easy to clean and resistant to stains, water, and odors. Our focus is on design that not only possesses style but also endures the test of time! Adding the finishing touches, we selected a stunning veined quartz countertop paired with a complementary grey tile backsplash. The custom fluted hood pays homage to the fluted cement fireplace in the home, artfully tying all areas together.

In the family room, we added rift cut white oak cabinets and floating shelves to flank the focal point, a custom cement fluted fireplace. It perfectly strikes a balance between making a statement and exuding subtle elegance. To complement the spaciousness of the family room, we introduced two custom sofas: one in luxurious leather and the other in a white performance fabric with a linen-like texture. These two sofa styles are artfully arranged around a sleek black marble console table, accompanied by two accent chairs. To draw the gaze upwards, we incorporated a stunning brass chandelier, harmonizing with various metallic accents present throughout the rest of the home. To seamlessly connect the family room with the captivating backyard, we replaced the windows with a magnificent 20-foot sliding door, allowing natural sunlight and those breathtaking mountain views to flood in. We are absolutely delighted with how this detail has transformed the space!

Adjacent to the family room, we carefully chose a vibrant burst of color for the dining room. The exquisite, handcrafted wallpaper breathes life and texture into the area, showcasing intricate pieces in a captivating terracotta hue. It truly stands as a work of art on its own! To further make a statement, we incorporated a hand-blown glass light fixture, adding an extra touch of sophistication. Taking center stage in the dining room is a charming round table adorned with captivating brass studs, imparting a subtle yet impactful touch that gracefully complements the black and brass accents elegantly scattered throughout the home.

With a breathtaking backdrop of the Scottsdale mountains, this home embraces a seamless integration of colors inspired by the desert palette. Neutrals and warm terracottas gracefully flow throughout the living spaces, creating a cohesive ambiance. It was imperative to design an interior that both complements the stunning exterior and exudes comfort and uniqueness, resulting in a harmonious and captivating environment. Needless to say, our client is absolutely thrilled with the overall sophistication of her new home!
