In Trillith, Georgia, Bethany Jones Interiors transformed a new construction house into a sophisticated European-inspired home. Centered around a custom walnut island that’s reminiscent of historical furnishing, the design harmoniously blends Old World charm with modern luxury. Elizabeth Granger’s photography captures the essence of this laidback home, where timeless elegance and contemporary design converge.
From the designer… We had the privilege of working with past clients on their beautiful, new construction home in Town at Trilith located in Fayetteville, Georgia. The wife had one very particular request from the outset – to have a large, working island (no counter stools) that looked like it was found in an off-the-beaten-path European kitchen. This centerpiece informed the design direction for the remainder of the home.
The challenge, though, was finding the right size and design style within the appropriate timeline; so, to achieve those goals, we had the richly-stained, walnut island with a butcher block top custom built. The materiality ensemble includes brass fixtures, natural green cabinetry, a plaster vent hood, and a bold yet understated quartzite with a timeless backsplash silhouette and edge profile.
Through the kitchen lives the workhorse of the space – the scullery. To continue telling the story of old-world charm, we decided to arch the openings and wrap them in the same finished walnut as the island and chose a black and white checkered tile floor. We filled the leathered granite countertops with an abundance of herbs and fresh stems as though they were snipped right from the garden. This is where the beauty of classic design meets modern luxury.
