In their quest to create a welcoming haven for entertaining guests, Lucas Browning Design sought to harmonize this home’s architectural features with warm and inviting furnishings. Designers, Heather and Katie, carefully considered the intricate paneling and structural elements, opting for a balance of textures over bold patterns to enhance the existing structure. Jessica Alexander captured this stunning LA home in the tour below.
From the designer… Our clients wanted their home to feel livable and inviting and wanted a great place to entertain their friends so our goal when furnishing this home was to warm it up and fill it with pieces that worked with the architectural bones of the home. There is a lot of awesome paneling and architectural detail that we considered when picking our furnishings. We stayed away from too much pattern so they didn’t fight with each other but brought in interest with warm layered textures and modern lighting. We also kept in mind their two small children and utilized durable fabrics and soft lines.
This spacious new build home was a dream to shoot. Lucas Browning added warmth while letting the architectural features shine. Larger scale plants and florals played an important part in our styling on this shoot, particularly in the areas with double high ceilings.
