Making the move to leave my job and focus on my own brand and business (full-time, finally) was one of THE scariest, most exhilarating, nauseating, empowering, all-around-mess-of-emotions things I’ve ever done. It took me quite a while to take the plunge… but I did it, I’m doing it. And I partly owe it to the dozens of women in the last ten years or so who’ve inspired me and shown me that it IS possible. Once you start treating your dream and passion like a legit business and job—things change, they really do my friends.
One of those incredible women is my dear friend Jacquelyn of Lark & Linen. Jacquelyn and I used to work together at Style Me Pretty and when she left her role to focus on her interior design business full-time, she gave me a glimmer of hope that I too, could one day do the same. Then, she started kicking ass and taking names, which didn’t surprise me in the least—she’s filled with immense talent, and she’s got kindness pouring out of every part of her being. To say that she left an impression on me when it came to that glimmer of home turning into a someday reality would be an understatement. Thank you sweet friend for helping me to see a light in myself.
So, with that (lengthy, but deserved intro) said, it should only make sense that I couldn’t launch HAVEN without having Jacquelyn’s beautiful work on the blog. Today, we’re stepping inside her living room that is legit the coziest, most elegant, yet approachable space. And, she designed it in under six weeks for the One Room Challenge. Doesn’t that couch make you want to snuggle up with a big bowl of popcorn and rosé (weird combo, but absolutely delish) and a good movie? Scroll for the room tour with photography by Heidi Lau and make sure to head to Lark & Linen to see the before pic and all of the sources. Oh, AND she’s back tomorrow for our Haven Maven series with lots of fun tidbits!
One of my favorite parts of this room is that darling medallion paired with the chandelier. Proof that the little details married up with the big ones, can really transform a room!
