The four seasons porch in our home is by far one of my favorite spots, but admittedly, it’s still looking a little sad—even after four years of living in our home. I suppose I’m letting my ideas marinate a bit before designing it. Or, maybe that’s an excuse. Do you do that too with rooms in your home? Well, today I’ve got a new muse for our space and it comes in the form of this darling space designed by Bria Hammel Interiors for The Zucker Family. Their home may be located in the Midwest, but that didn’t stop Bria and team from crafting a space with a refreshing California coastal vibe—from the hanging chair and the basket wall to all the lovely pieces woven in from Brooke & Lou. After this one you’ll be ready to pour a glass of rosé and kick your feet up.

From Bria Hammel Interiors… Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to work with Minnesota Wild hockey player, Jason Zucker, and his wife, Carly, to give their porch a refresh. As lovers of entertaining, they wanted a beautiful and functional space to host their family and friends throughout the entire year. One of our first changes to the space was to make it a true, four season porch. Living in the Midwest, we experience pretty long winters so instead of creating an area they can’t use for 4 or 5 months, we made sure they could enjoy their porch 365 days of the year.

We kept the color palette fairly neutral and added in subtle, California coastal influences through the hanging chair and rattan accent pieces like the baskets on the wall and dining chairs. On chilly nights, they’ll be able to turn on their sleek fireplace for added coziness and on warm, summer days they can open the accordion doors and embrace that indoor/outdoor dining. We absolutely love this space and can already imagine all the fun dinner parties and gatherings our clients will have in the gorgeous room.
