When Kelsey, of Kelsey Leigh Design Co., took on this project mid-build she created an interior that soothes while highlighting the lush greenery surrounding the home. From the designer… Here we tackled a project in Edmond, Oklahoma for a client who wanted to capture the California casual style of the coast and bring it back to Oklahoma. The home sits on land that backs up to a beautiful green forest, setting the stage for capturing the natural feel of the home. This was a new construction project we were hired on mid build, to help with the selection of hard finishes of the home including countertops, tile, wood flooring, interior and exterior paint colors, plumbing fixtures, and lighting. From there the project developed into a full service design project, where we helped our client select all the furnishings and accessories for their new home.
This project exemplifies the Kelsey Leigh Design Co. signature style “Warm Modern”. Telltale signs include lots of texture, organic materials and finishes, earth tones, some high contrast moments and lots of warmth. I really love how the entire home came together and can be viewed as a whole complete thought. It really has a flow and “feel” to it… an intangible quality that makes the backdrop for living there feel so restful and warm.
