When we think of the comforts of home, that encompasses so much more than a beautifully designed room. Home is our canvas for memories to be made with loved ones, yet for so many who are affected by domestic violence and abuse, home (and beyond) feels nothing like a safe haven. Today, we’re partnering with Plum Pretty Sugar to help spread awareness and aid victims of domestic violence; a purpose that aligns closely with the personal story of Founder and CEO, Charlotte Hale.
Domestic violence and abuse do not discriminate. They affect people of all races, ages, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic backgrounds, education levels and can occur in marriages and relationships. On average, nearly twenty people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States; in a single year, nearly 10 million—a harsh statistic. Additionally, 1 in 4 women have been victims of severe abuse by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

Standing alongside Plum Pretty Sugar, we envision a community free of domestic abuse and seek to raise awareness. This Valentine’s Day, join us in being a champion of love for those victims who need support. Between now, February 1st and February 14th, Plum Pretty Sugar will gift one of their Pink Love Poppy robes to women in need for every order placed. These robes will be provided to PPS’s anti-domestic abuse partners, Haven Hills and Knock Out Abuse West.
Haven Hills provides safety, shelter, and support to victims of domestic violence while leading efforts to prevent the cycle of abuse for victims and their children.
Knock Out Abuse West is a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles that raises awareness and funds for victims of domestic abuse.
If you’re wondering, how can a robe change a life? I can personally say that the Plum Pretty Sugar pieces in my closet have been there with me during many impactful moments in my life. My wedding day, during my pregnancy, at the hospital after the birth of my son, many days during the months of becoming a new mother (and wanted to feel both comfortable and beautiful!) and currently, on a regular basis when I’m getting ready for my day or treating myself to a spa night at home.
